Because Al has a conductivity of ~61% IACS compared to Cu's 100%, the cross section must increase. A 50mm² Cu cable requires an 80mm² Al cable.
Vibration Concerns
Al is more prone to work-hardening and fracture. Routing requires larger bend radii.
